Mod «Plysken Solar Revolution» for Project Zomboid
Plysken Solar Revolution for Project Zomboid.
This mod adds a complete off-grid solar energy system to Project Zomboid Build 42+, compatible with singleplayer, co-op (host), and dedicated servers. Harness the power of the sun to keep your base running long after the grid goes dark. The system includes solar panels, battery banks, and a failsafe backup generator relay. It is recommended to test the mod on a spare server before adding it to an existing playthrough.
How It Works
Place a Power Bank inside your base and connect solar panels to it. The bank charges during the day and powers any nearby vanilla appliances—lights, fridges, freezers, TVs—exactly like a generator, but without the noise or fuel consumption. At night, or when clouds roll in, stored energy keeps everything running. When the bank runs dry, an optional Solar Failsafe can automatically kick in your vanilla generator. As of v1.1, the Power Bank powers the entire building it is in, and multiple banks can be linked together into a shared network.
Items
- Solar Panels
- Solar Panel (Flat) — Placed flat on the ground or a roof for maximum sun exposure.
- Solar Panel (Wall) — Mounted on a wall (North or West facing). Requires a wall surface.
- Solar Panel (Mounted) — Angled floor stand for flexible outdoor placement.
- Solar Panel — Raw component used to craft the three panel types above.
- Power Storage
- Power Bank — The heart of your solar system. Stores energy, powers the entire building it is in, and accepts PSR batteries. Crafted with an inverter, metal, and electronic components. Can be linked to adjacent banks to form a shared network.
- 200Ah Battery — High-capacity battery for the bank. Found as loot.
- 400Ah Battery — Maximum capacity battery. Rare loot.
- Wired Car Battery — Any car battery rewired for the bank. Capacity and quality depend on your Electricity skill.
- Improvised Battery — Crafted from scrap metal and salvaged parts. A renewable alternative to car batteries.
- DIY Battery — Built from multiple wired car batteries or improvised batteries combined into one higher-capacity unit.
- Electronics
- Inverter — Required component to build the Power Bank.
- Solar Failsafe — Connects to a vanilla generator. Starts automatically (1 game tick) when the bank cannot keep up with demand and stops automatically (1 game tick) when the bank recovers.
- Literature
- New Advancements: Energy From The Sun — Skill magazine. Teaches all PSR recipes. Find it in the world or in loot crates.
Sandbox Options
Fine-tune the mod to your playstyle:

- Battery degradation severity
- DIY battery capacity multiplier
- Loot rarity multipliers (panels, batteries, misc)
- Battery Bank world spawn rarity
- Panel connection time
- Enable advanced crafting recipes (solar panel and inverter from scratch)
World Spawns
Solar loot crates and pre-built battery banks can spawn in garages, storage units, and farm buildings.
